    1. Because we are doing real business with real value prop for our users with most easy and affordable experience for stock investing. Unlike the one in question and others who offer services for FREE and then run out of money and go out of business. We take pride in creating new investors!

      1. I appreciate the response. I have signed up for an account, but you have to admit my skepticism as more than one free brokerage company I have tried has gone out of business or changed their business model over time to a fee structure. i.e. Zecco now TradeKing soon to be Ally something or other and now Loyal 3.

I admit it isn’t ‘free’ but $0.99 is pretty close to free. I like the fractional shares, dividend reinvestment and selection that Stockpile offers. I just hope Stockpile is able to ‘earn a living’ off of the $0.99 trade.

I have a couple of questions for you.

        – How do we transfer cash from Loyal3 to Stockpile, I have $1k+ Nokia shares?
        – What is your fee for full & partial account transfer-out fee?
        – And, what other fees are in play (Residual Balance et al.)?

        Kind regards,

        Russell

      5. I have two improvements/suggestions right now 😬

1st. Speed up bank to Stockpile transfers. Waiting 3+ days is a joke. Some places have same day access for funds to trade.

2nd. Add a ‘remember email’ radio button on the sign in page. Sometimes I have to use the website vs app and it is annoying to type in my email address every time.

I guess I will perform my first trade tomorrow since my transfer from Friday just showed up 😕

      6. One more suggestion:

Be able to set up reoccurring money transfers into the account. If I want to set up a $500 deposit every week or every other week, it would be nice to set it up and have it accumulate.

    1. Hi John,

There is no fee/cost to transfer assets from Loyal3 to stockpile. There are no monthly or annual fees, and no minimum account balance required.

All you need to do is, open a stockpile account and send us your latest Loyal3 account statement at support@stockpile.com. We will send you a form to fill out and you are all set!

The transfer takes 2-4 weeks (because Loyal3 is not accepting quick automated transfers) although you can start buying stock in your Stockpile account immediately.

      1. Is is 2-4 weeks to initiate the transfer or to complete the transfer? Loyal3 requires the new broker to send transfer instruction form (TIF) by May 15, 2017. If I create an account and send my statement today, will Loyal3 receive it in time?

  2. How does the dividend reinvestment work? Will they be automatic?
Will the whole account(stock and cash) be transferred from Loyal3 ?

      1. Hi Luis, Your whole shares will be transferred from Loyal3 as it is. But Your fractional shares will be cashed out by Loyal3 and cash will be sent to you.

We (Stockpile) accepts fractional shares but it is Loyal3’s decision to not transfer those over. However, you can buy or sell fractional shares on stockpile once you have Stockpile account. Hope this helps!

  3. Will the shares of stock be transferred in full as they are currently in Loyal3 or will the value be cashed out then repurchased in stockpile? I.e. If I have 5 shares @ $100 at the time of transfer, will I maintain 5 shares on stockpile or would $500 be cashed out, then used to repurchase at current value?

    1. Hi Cho, we (Stockpile) accepts fractional shares but it is Loyal3’s decision to not transfer fractional shares of their customers to any other brokerage. Unfortunately, due to their decision, we will not be receiving your fractional shares during account transfer.
However, once you have a stockpile account, you can continue to buy and sell fractional shares on our platform!

  4. But I bought those fractional shares(free=no commission) when they were at a much lower cost than they presently are now!
I know I can buy the same stk after the transfer but Stockpile will charge me the said stk at the prevailing price + 99¢

    1. We totally understand your frustration. We are ready to accept fractional shares but unfortunately Loyal3 has decided not to transfer any fractional shares so there is nothing we can do. You might want to reach out to Loyal3 if they are ready to change their policy on that front and we’d be willing to do everything on our side to accept your fractional shares.

  6. I am a customer of Loyal3 and took action immediately when I received the notice they were closing and moving their biz to Folio First. I’ve already made some purchases with Stockpile with the sale of shares in PEP and WMT. The problem is Loyal3 is not responding to phone calls or emails. My account, valued at approx. $5,200.00, is locked. I can’t withdraw my remaining cash of $1,200.00 and they have not executed the transfer of my AAPL and MSFT shares to another broker. Does ANYONE know what is going on? I have called FINRA and filed a complaint. Loyal3 ceased operation on Monday, May 22nd, and any available cash still in customer’s accounts should have been deposited to their bank account on record at the end of business. And the broker transfer should have taken no more than 10 days, as of today, it has been 34 days. What more can I do? Loyal3 has an automated email response that sends you a ‘ticket’ number and tells you the ‘support staff’ will get back to you…but, no response. FINRA indicated that someone would contact me by the end of last week, no response, so I’m calling them tomorrow. PLEASE, someone tell me..WHAT CAN I DO ? Thanks for any help….

    1. Hi Lee, We can try to look into this for you but Loyal3 has been really unresponsive and any cash transfers are supposed to be directly from Loyal3 to your bank account not through Stockpile. But you can directly reach out our support team at support@stockpile.com for further information and faster turn around!

    2. Well I can tell you what happened with mine, but I am confused when you say you’ve purchased some PEP and WMT? Did they only transfer some of your profile?

Soon after I heard of the changeover I initiated my transfer request to Merrill Edge, I wasn’t aware of Stockpile at the time 😉 I started the transfer on 4/21 and it didn’t complete till 5/25 about 5 weeks!! In that time frame, I was calling Loyal3 (till they stopped answering) sending emails to support and even to Merrill Edge. Every week I was told, just one more week. I am glad it has been transferred over though cause I had accumulated about $25k in my ‘spare change’ fund at L3 and that wouldn’t have been fun to try and track down or lose.

Now I am waiting for the $$ from the fractional share sell off to be transferred to me. Stupidly I was thinking it would be pretty quick after the full share transfer. But again over a week later and still no funds. It is about $1k I am waiting on. The most recent support email I sent to L3 stated this:

“If you transferred to FolioFirst, you should have received an email from them with login instructions. For questions, please go to http://www.foliofirst.com.

If your account is transferring to another broker, we’re currently processing all instructions received by May 18th. We expect to complete processing by Friday June 9th and sell any fractional shares and send the proceeds to your bank account by June 16th. ”

So it looks like waiting is the name of the game. I will see what happens by June 16th and see what to do next if it hasn’t resolved.

Meanwhile, I have opened my next “spare change” account at Stockpile and besides the slow money transfer, I am liking it. I know I can pay $0.25 for an immediate debit, but hey, I am cheap, that is why I am paying $0.99 for trades 🙂

  7. Looks like you should use support@stockpile.com to contact them.

From what I have read, they seem pretty quick on taking care of their customers, a welcome surprise after L3. I luckily haven’t had to contact them as I haven’t had any issues (fingers crossed) but I did open an account as a new user instead of a transfer in.

I do know that one of the biggest problem(s) is that the slow down is on the L3 side, they are not allowing electronic transfers (usually 8 days or less) or transfers of the partial shares. I commented above that it took 5 weeks to complete my share transfer, still waiting for the cash transfer 😦

    Good luck.
